A total of 510,130 households have received the first tranche amounting to Rs50,000 in 14 districts as of Tuesday, according to the National Reconstruction Authority.
According to the Central Project Implementation Unit under the Ministry of Federal Affairs and Local Development, Sindhupalchok district that saw the largest number of casualties in the earthquake has the highest number of households (74,912) receiving the first tranche, followed by Nuwakot (60,474), Kavre (59,751), Dhading (52,917) and Gorkha (52,675).
Out of the 71,683 households identified as needy of the housing aid in Kathmandu Valley, 50,243 have received the first instalment as of Tuesday.
Distribution of the second tranche of aid to the households that have built the foundation layer of the new house has started in some districts. As of Tuesday, 720 households have received the second installment of Rs150,000.
