Bharatpur
CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli said it would be unfortunate for the incumbent Pushpa Kamal Dahal-led government if it delays elections to prolong their stay in power.
Speaking to journalists at Bharatpur Airport, Oli said UML would not stay mum if the government plots to increase its tenure by delaying elections. "It will not be acceptable to the people," said Oli.
The former prime minister said the government will topple and it would be dubbed unsuccessful if it is thinking to hold up elections and instead chose to remain in power.
Oli said the amendment to the constitution was completely unnecessary, inappropriate and harmful for the country. "It will not be endorsed. The country doesn't support amendment," Oli said.
