UML's undemocratic conduct halts constitution amendment: Deuba

He also accused the UML of devaluing parliamentary practice by not letting Parliament to carry on its business in an attempt to prevent the passage of the constitution amendment proposal that has been brought to address the demands of Madhesi community in the parliament.
Deuba was addressing a mass meeting organised by nine VDCs across Sunkoshi River under NC Kavre-1.
The NC president also claimed that the amendment proposal would be passed at any cost.
He pledged that the NC that had taken a lead role in promulgating the constitution would also implement it by holding all three levels of elections.
"Now the parliamentary business cannot remain stalled for long despite disagreements and efforts to halt it. We have little time but more work. Rest assured, NC will complete all these tasks," he said.
Likewise on the occasion, Minister for Foreign Affairs Dr Prakash Sharan Mahat said foreign relations could not be strengthened by taking out rallies on the streets, but it is possible through diplomatic initiatives.
On the occasion, around 500 leaders and cadres of various political parties including CPN (UML) and CPN (Maoist Centre) joined NC. RSS
