Claiming that the clarification furnished by Gyewali was not satisfactory, a Cabinet meeting on Thursday decided to seek another clarification from him, which many see as the government's final act to relieve him from the NAR executive post.
Chief Secretary Somlal Subedi said CEO Gyewali has sought further clarification from him on why he should not be dismissed. Gyewali should furnish clarification within three days.
The government's move came a day after CEO Gyewali submitted his clarification.
The Cabinet meeting on Thursday gave the responsibility to PM Pushpa Kamal Dahal to take a final call on Gyewali's sacking. Saying that the Cabinet has not sacked Gyewali yet, PMO sources said, "The further clarification has been asked after PM Dahal directed us to issue such letter."
However, CEO Gyewali said he worked as usual on Thursday and didn't receive any letter from the government until 5 pm.
