The District Administration Office has agreed, among others, to investigate the case and provide sufficient compensation to Shahi’s family.
Shahi, who hails from Jajarkot district, was brutally murdered by Tek Bahadur Limbu, a local of Khokling VDC, on Sunday over a land boundary dispute.
Chief District Officer (CDO) Nara Bahadur Khadka said Shahi’s family agreed to receive his body following the agreement.
He as the request for a helicopter to take the body to Jajarkot could not be fulfilled, the family agreed to cremate Shahi in Taplejung.
An official at the District Forest Office said Shahi’s final rites will be performed on Thursday. Shahi’s brother Janak and 14 friends and relatives have come to Taplejung to receive the body.
