ACORAB inspects Radio Dhading building
Representatives of the Association of Community Radio Broadcasters Nepal (ACORAB) inspected the damaged building of Radio Dhading, a community broadcaster, in Neelkantha Municipality on Saturday.
Representatives of the Association of Community Radio Broadcasters Nepal (ACORAB) inspected the damaged building of Radio Dhading, a community broadcaster, in Neelkantha Municipality on Saturday.
After inspecting the ravaged building, a team led by ACORAB Co-chairman Min Bahadur Shahi met Dhading Chief District Officer Bishwo Prakash Subedi.
Senior Vice-chairperson of the association Kishorjang Thapa said the District Forest Office had destroyed the building without taking out the studio equipment. “This shows that the DFO tried to attack the radio rather than clearing the encroached forest land,” said Thapa.
ACORAB representatives have demanded compensation for the damage.
The DFO had demolished the buildings of Radio Dhading and the adjoining ‘Sneha House’ that sheltered women in need, inside the Amarawati Community Forest on Friday morning. (PR)
