Rs 105m Swiss support for Jiri School
The government of Switzerland has agreed to provide one million Swiss francs (approximately Rs 105 million) for the reconstruction of Jiri Technical School in Dolakha district.The government of Switzerland has agreed to provide one million Swiss francs (approximately Rs 105 million) for the reconstruction of Jiri Technical School in Dolakha district.
A memorandum of understanding to this effect was signed and exchanged between Diepak Elmer, chargé d’affaires of the Embassy of Switzerland in Nepal and Tulasi Prasad Thapaliya, joint secretary at the Ministry of Education on Thursday, according to a press statement issued by the Embassy of Switzerland.
The fund will be used for the construction of classrooms for different technical school leaving certificate courses and girl hostels and landscaping of the school premises.
“Technical School Nepal and Switzerland share more than half a century of friendship and joint developmental cooperation and the latest assistance is part of continuation of the Swiss support,” said the statement. “The project is expected to restore academic operation in the JTS. The construction is expected to be completed by December 2018,” it added.
