Fire broke out simultaneously in three Banke villages destroying over 53 houses on Saturday.
25 houses in Kalafata, 10 houses of Joruwa village in Khaaskusma and 18 houses in Holiya village were destroyed by the fire, informed Banke Chief District Officer Rabi Lal Panth.
CDO Panth informed that the fire has gone out of control. The only fire-truck in Nepalgunj has been sent to Holiya and Police personnel have been deployed to Kalafata and khaaskusma to douse the fire.
The actual scale of damage is yet to be ascertained as the fire is yet to be brought under control. However, no human casualties have been reported.
