A 16-month-old Nepali child died in a fatal accident in Sydney, Australia on Thursday. The baby identified as ShreyanThapa was mowed down by a car bearing P-plate. The registration plate signifies beginner drivers with probationary licence.
The accident occurred at around 10 am in the morning at Marian Road in Aban, Sydney. The toddler was walking with its grandmother when the car struck it down.
Rushed to Westmead Hospital immediately after the accident, the child was pronounced dead by doctors. Meanwhile, police have been investigating the case.
Deceased baby’s father Sujan and mother Rojita are grieving. They had arrived Australia on student visa few years ago and were applying for permanent residential status in the country.
Non Resident Nepali, Australia Vice-chairman Dinesh Pokhrel said that they have already come to contact with the victims and have been extending all possible support to the bereaved family.
