PM fires Energy Minister Gyawali

Prime Minister Sushil Koirala has removed Energy Minister Radha Gyawali from her position. She had been implicated in the Solu Corridor Transmission line scam by the Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA). Prime Minister Koirala had requested CPN-UML Chairman KP Oli to recall two ministers from the party after CIAA sent a letter to the Prime Minister's office seeking their removal for their alleged involvement in scams. PM had also urged Gyawali to step down.
Earlier in the day, Sports Minister Purosttam Poudel had tendered his resignation after.
