The price of gold fell by Rs2,500 per tola (11.663 grams) on Monday. The Federation of Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers’ Association has set the price at Rs283,500 per tola for the day.
Gold had been traded at Rs286,000 per tola on the previous day. Overall, the price of gold has increased by Rs8,000 over the past week. It was traded at Rs275,500 per tola last Monday.
Silver prices also declined. Compared to the previous day, silver fell by Rs20 per tola. Silver, which was traded at Rs4,720 per tola on Sunday, dropped to Rs4,700 per tola on Monday. Last Monday, silver was traded at Rs4,425 per tola.
International bullion markets also showed a slight downturn as investors booked profits after recent gains. According to Reuters, gold prices softened as a stronger US dollar and expectations of steady interest rates weighed on demand for safe-haven assets, putting pressure on global prices.
Reuters also noted that geopolitical tensions and central bank policies continue to influence bullion trends. While gold remains supported by uncertainty, short-term fluctuations are expected as markets respond to economic data and monetary policy shifts.
