Nepse plunges 71.05 points as all sectors post losses
Turnover exceeds Rs15 billion, with 255 stocks declining.Post Report
The Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) index fell sharply by 71.05 points on Sunday, closing at 2,879.11, as selling pressure gripped the market on the first trading day of the week.
Total turnover reached Rs15.03 billion, with 35.24 million shares traded in 196,158 transactions during the day. Of the traded stocks, 255 declined, 10 advanced, and one remained unchanged, indicating a broad-based downturn.
All sub-indices ended in negative territory. The Life Insurance sub-index recorded the steepest drop, falling by 300.50 points, followed by Non-Life Insurance, which declined by 264.65 points. The Development Bank sub-index also saw a significant fall of 184.10 points.
Despite the overall decline, shares of Reliance Spinning Mills, Super Khudi Hydropower and Ridge Line Energy hit the upper circuit, gaining 10 percent each.
On the losing side, Unnati Nepal Laghubitta fell by 6.17 percent, while Himalayan Bank Limited Bond 2086 declined by 5.62 percent.
