Gold price rises by Rs5,000 per tola
Silver also gains Rs50 as precious metal prices trend upward in local market.Post Report
The price of gold increased by Rs5,000 per tola (11.663 grams) on Sunday.
The Federation of Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers’ Association fixed the price of fine gold at Rs286,000 per tola for the day. It was traded at Rs281,000 per tola the previous day.
Overall, gold prices have risen by Rs4,000 over the past week. Last Sunday, gold was traded at Rs282,000 per tola.
Silver prices also increased. The price of silver rose by Rs50 per tola compared to the previous day. Silver, which was traded at Rs4,670 per tola on the previous day, is now priced at Rs4,720 per tola.
A week earlier, last Sunday, silver was traded at Rs4,540 per tola.
International gold prices edged higher as investors turned to safe-haven assets amid global uncertainty, with Reuters noting that “gold gained as geopolitical tensions and rate expectations supported demand.”
Reuters also reported that softer US economic signals and expectations of monetary policy easing are keeping bullion prices elevated in global markets.
