Nepse rises 9.23 points as turnover improves
Benchmark rebounds on Thursday after previous session’s decline, with trading volume climbing to Rs9.07 billion.Post Report
The Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) index rebounded on Thursday, gaining 9.23 points on the final trading day of the week, as market sentiment improved alongside higher turnover.
The benchmark had declined by around 9.5 points on Wednesday after four consecutive days of gains. However, it recovered on Thursday, rising by 0.34 per cent to close at 2,714.61 points.
Market breadth was positive, with share prices of 162 companies advancing, while 88 declined and 10 remained unchanged during the session.
A total of 19,075,756 shares were traded through 94,174 transactions, generating a turnover of Rs9.07 billion. This marked an increase compared to Wednesday’s turnover of Rs8.92 billion, reflecting stronger investor participation.
The day’s performance indicated a modest recovery in the market after the midweek pullback, supported by broader buying interest across listed companies.
