The American Chamber of Commerce in Nepal (AmCham Nepal) has joined the AmChams of Asia Pacific (AAP), becoming part of a network of more than 20 regional American Chambers operating under the US Chamber of Commerce.
AmCham said the accreditation marks a major milestone for Nepal’s private sector. With the move, AmCham Nepal becomes the 130th chamber globally recognised by the US Chamber, joining regional counterparts such as AmCham India, China, Australia, Japan and Thailand.
The organisation was formally welcomed at the AAP Board Meeting on October 29, chaired by April Palmerlee, CEO of AmCham Australia. Amir Thapa, executive director of AmCham Nepal, thanked AAP leadership for the recognition and reaffirmed the chamber’s commitment to strengthening US business engagement and advancing Nepal–US trade relations.
He briefed the network on AmCham Nepal’s growth over the past three years, highlighting its expanding membership base and advocacy initiatives.
Through the AAP platform, AmCham Nepal members will gain access to major regional business summits, policy forums and advocacy events, including the Annual AmChams of Asia Pacific Business Summit and the Washington Doorknock delegations.
