Post Report
The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index declined by 3.90 points on Tuesday, closing at 2,654.75. The benchmark index slipped by 0.14 percent compared to the previous trading day, reflecting cautious investor sentiment following recent market fluctuations.
According to NEPSE, a total of 16.4 million shares were traded in 70,077 transactions across 247 listed companies. The total turnover stood at Rs7.65 billion, slightly lower than recent highs but still indicative of sustained trading interest.
Of the traded companies, the share prices of 99 increased while 148 declined, and the rest remained unchanged.
Performance across the 13 trading subgroups was mixed. The hydropower, microfinance, and trading sub-indices posted modest gains of 9.85, 51.77, and 5.04 points, respectively. However, the remaining sectors, including banking, finance, development banks, and hotels, closed in negative territory.
Market analysts suggest that the decline reflects a temporary pullback following recent gains, with investors adopting a wait-and-see approach amid sectoral uncertainty.
