Litmus Industries, Nepal’s largest manufacturer of cables, wires, and conductors, has achieved a milestone by becoming the first company in Nepal to produce medium voltage XLPE-covered conductors locally.
With an annual production capacity of 20,000 kilometres, this innovation reduces reliance on imports and fosters energy independence, the company said in a press statement.
Designed to meet high standards of quality and durability, these conductors are certified under EN 50397 and IS 398 – VI. Manufactured using advanced German technology, the process includes triple-layer extrusion for enhanced insulation, deep-water curing for superior cross-linking, and rigorous quality testing such as spark and anti-tracking tests. This ensures optimal performance and longevity, even in Nepal’s challenging terrains.
