DECC Nepal kicked off the Teej Mela at World Trade Centre in Tripureshwor on Wednesday.
The five-day event, according to Manoj Gurung, managing director of DECC Nepal, will bring together more than 100 stalls of various products for Teej and other daily accessories for women.
“The objective of the event is to facilitate women shopping. The event will provide all kinds of necessary goods at a cheaper price in a single venue,” said Gurung.
The event also aims to encourage female entrepreneurs by marketing and promoting their products. According to the organisers, the stalls are provided free of cost to non-profit organisers.
Traders from Nepal and neighbouring countries are also exhibiting their products such as apparel, cosmetics, jewellery, and among others.
The event will begin from 10 am to 7 pm. Visitors will be provided food and discount vouchers, and there are day-to-day prizes, said the organiser. (PR)
