Nepal Oil Corporation slashes fuel prices
The state-owned oil monopoly has reduced the price of petrol, diesel and kerosene by Rs 5 per litre in Kathmandu, Pokhara and Dipayal; Rs 7.5 per litre in the Terai and Rs 6 per litre in Surkhet and Dang.Post Report
Nepal Oil Corporation has reduced the price of petroleum products, effective from Monday midnight.
The corporation has reduced the price of petrol, diesel and kerosene by Rs 5 per litre in Kathmandu, Pokhara and Dipayal. Similarly, the cost of petroleum products in Terai has been slashed by Rs 7.5 per litre, while in Surkhet and Dang, fuel prices have been reduced by Rs 6 per litre.
The meeting of the NOC board held on Monday evening decided to reduce the price, said Manoj Thakur, the spokesperson of the corporation, adding that the NOC has determined the price using a scientific system.
The NOC has included Terai (Charali, Biratnagar, Janakpur, Birgunj, Amlekhgunj, Bhalwari, Nepalgunj and Dhangadhi) in the first category, while Surkhet and Dang are in the second category. Likewise, Kathmandu, Pokhara and Dipayal are included in the third category.
As per the new adjusted price, petrol will cost Rs 170/litre and diesel and kerosene will cost Rs150/litre in Kathmandu, Pokhara and Dipayal.
Similarly, in Terai, the consumer price of petrol will be Rs 167.5/litre, while the price of diesel and kerosene will be Rs 147.5/litre. In Surkhet and Dang, the consumer price of petrol will be Rs 169/litre, while the price of diesel and kerosene will be Rs 149/litre.
Meanwhile, the NOC has kept the price of LP gas for cooking unchanged.
The state-owned oil monopoly has also reduced the price of aviation fuel. The price of domestic aviation fuel has been reduced by Rs 14/litre and the price of international aviation fuel has slashed by Rs 15/litre.
