Finance Minister Prakash Sharan Mahat said on Sunday the budget for the next financial year 2023-2024 would focus on boosting economic growth, increasing employment opportunities as well as ensuring good governance. 

The budget session of Parliament began on Sunday. Speaking during the budget session in the House of Representatives, Mahat made a proposal to discuss the principles and priorities of the Appropriation Bill. 

"I would like to inform you that the budget for the coming financial year will focus on achieving sustainable, broad and inclusive economic growth,” said Mahat. 

“The budget will focus on increasing employment opportunities, improving service delivery and maintaining effectiveness in proper resource mobilisation." (PR)
