Kathmandu
Private carrier Buddha Air on Thursday announced the operation of night flights from Sunday.
This comes after the Civil Aviation Association of Nepal had decided to run six airports in Tarai — Bhadrapur, Biratnagar, Janakpur, Simara, Bhairahawa and Nepalgunj—for 18 hours a day—from 6:00 am to 12:00 midnight in order to reduce congestion at the Tribhuvan International Airport.
However, private airlines had asked for some time to implement the decision. Buddha Air said it will fly at least 13 percent of its approved schedule at night.
The night flights will be after 8:00 pm. Buddha Air has also requested the provincial government to arrange transport facilities for passengers from the airport during the nighttime. (PR)
