Kathmandu
The Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority on Thursday arrested Bholanath Chalise, a senior non-gazetted officer of the Kathmandu District Court, red handed while taking bribe.
A team from the anti-graft agency arrested Chalise while he was receiving Rs500,000 in Babarmahal, Kathmandu.
“We had received complaints regarding Chalise, following which we had put him under surveillance,” Rameshwor Dangal, joint-secretary and spokesperson of the CIAA told the Post. “When Chalise was receiving the bribe, our team arrested him. The service seeker who was forced to cough up the money had lodged a complaint with us.”
Chalise used to ask for bribe pledging people that he would help them in easing cases in the court.
