Nawalparasi
The farmers around the Gandak Command Area in West Nawalparasi will get some relief from the problem of inundation and erosion as the Bihar state government of India is cleaning and repairing 27,000ft stretch of the Gandak Irrigation Canal.
The Gandak Irrigation Management Division Office, Nawalparasi, said the canal maintenance works are at their final stages.
Repair and cleaning of the duct of the canal would provide easy outlet to the excess water, thereby preventing inundation and erosion, officials said.
Farmers of Susta and Pratappur rural municipalities would be relieved of the perennial problem of inundation and erosion.
