A pistol and three bullets have been recovered from the motorbike of CPN (Maoist Centre) candidate under proportional representation (PR) category Sushila Simkhada in Gorkha.
Police recovered the pistol and bullets during a security check on Simkhada’s motorbike (Ba 73 Pa 3386) at Dhawa in Bhimsen Rural Municipality-3, District Police Chief SP Prakash Adhikari said. Simkhada is CPN (Maoist Centre)’s PR candidate for parliamentary election.
The firearm was recovered from a bag carried on the motorbike. The rider, Guna Prasad Khanal of Bhimsen-4, has fled.
“We are interrogating the candidate and looking for the fugitive,” Adhikari said. Police have claimed that the youth came on the bike with the CPN (MC) candidate.
