A person was shot dead at Tatopani of Mahabharat VDC-9 in Dhankuta district on Monday.

Police said one Sabin Rain, 30, of Mahabharat-2 died after he sustained a bullet fired by one Dip Bahadur Rai, aka Divya. He died on the spot, while Dip Bahadur has fled after the incident.

SP Sudeep Raj Bhandari said the police has been mobilised to different entry points to search for the shooter.  Police personnel from District Police Office and Mulghat have been deputed at the incident site.

However, police said they have not been able to find the cause of the incident.
