She also called on Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Home Affairs Bimalendra Nidhi, where the two discussed a wide range of issues of mutual interest.
During the meeting, VP Pun is said to have expressed Nepal’s commitment to one-China policy and to not allowing its territory to be used for any activity against China. He said Nepalis were eager to welcome Chinese President Xi Jinping to Kathmandu. The Vice President also drew China’s attention to resuming the Tatopani transit point obstructed since the earthquake last year.
Ambassador Yu said efforts would be made for President Xi’s early visit to Nepal. A study was being carried out to resume the Tatopani border point. DPM Nidhi and the ambassador discussed security and development issues of mutual concern.
Thanking China for aiding the country in its development efforts, Nidhi said the government would allow no anti-China activity on the Nepali soil.
