CPN-UML Secretary Prithvi Subba Gurung has been elected chairman of the party-aligned Nepal Loktantrik Aadibasi Janajati Mahasangh.
The national convention of the party’s indigenous nationalities wing on Monday elected eight vice-chairpersons including senior vice-chair Sher Bahadur Tamang. Other vice-chairpersons include Pasang Sherpa, Til Kumar Meyangbo, Sharan Rai, Kripasur Sherpa, Bhadra Bahadur Thapa, Shanta Chaudhary and Chitra Bahadur Thapa Magar.
The convention has also elected Parshuram Meghi Gurung as the general secretary and Tashi Lama and Bijay Lopchan as deputy general secretaries. Ram Chandra Bal, PK Rai, Sharada Kumal and Dev Raj Rai are the new secretaries while Rajendra Shrestha has been elected treasurer and Ram Prasad Chaudhary the joint-treasurer of the federation. The convention elected a 67-member central committee.
