He suffered from the haemorrhage on Saturday night while inside three layers of security on the JSSK premises and was rushed to Thapathali-based Norvic Hospital where a surgery was performed on him. His condition is critical but stable, said RP Mainali, hospital spokesperson. There is a trend of paper setters living on the premise of JSSK, aloof from the outside world, while publishing the questions set for SLC examinations to ensure secrecy. A team of Office of the Controller of Examination led by Nepal had been in the closed session since February 8. The task of preparing questions usually lasts around three weeks.
Following his illness, the Ministry of Education has assigned Joint Secretary Uttam Kapri to complete
the task. “Kapri will now take charge as Nepal has been hospitalised,” a ministry a statement said on Monday. Kapri will lead the question paper publication starting Tuesday.
Around 515,000 students are taking the SLC examinations scheduled to start on March 31.
