Sarita Giri, Anil Jha unite to form NSP
The Nepal Sadbhawana Party led by Sarita Giri and Anil Kumar Jha led Sanghiya Sadbhawana Party have merged to form a single party, Nepal Sadbhawana Party.Ekantipur Report
A joint press statement issued by the formerly two parties on Monday states that the separate Central Committee meetings of the two parties made the decision to merge.
Leader Jha will chair the integrated party (NSP) while Giri will be its vice chairperson and the party will have ‘hand’ as its election symbol. The new party’s statute, manifesto, regulations, among other documents, have been submitted to Election Commission today itself, Jha informed.
The new party’s flag will constitute red colour on top, white colour on middle and green colour on bottom. Its office will be at Santinagar, Kathmandu, the current office of Sanghiya Sadbhawana Party.
Jha said the unification will defy the wrong perception that Madhes-centric parties only disintegrate and will also inspire the other parties to unite.
Likewise, leader Giri remarked that the merger will send a positive message across the political spectrum and said the parties with similar ideology and principle should unite.
Saying that she was alone in the task of upholding the name and flag of the party established by late Gajendra Narayan Singh, Giri said now there are others too standing by her to save the history created by Singh.
The party founded by Singh has divided into numerous parties under Rajendra Mahato, Anil Jha, Sarita Giri, Bikash Tiwari and Shyam Sundar Gupta.
