Four of a family killed in Sindhupalchowk landslide
The bodies of all four landslide victims at Bolde of Mahankal VDC-6 in Sindhupalchok district have been recovered.
The body of Man Bahadur Tamang of Bolde, Mahankal VDC-6, Sindhupalchok district, who was buried by a landslide that occurred last night, has been found. With this the death toll in the landslide has reached four.
Four members of the family of Dil Bahadur Tamang were killed by the landslide that occurred at the place which is 13 kilometres from Melamchi bazaar. Dil Bahadur was a teacher at the Golfu Bhanjyang Primary School, Nuwakot.
Dil Bahadur's wife, Moti Tamang and their daughter Anjali Tamang have sustained injuries. Besides, the landslide has also put 50 houses at Bolde at risk, according to Sancha Tamang, the Nepali Congress party's regional committee secretary.
The landslide also caused damage to the tunnel site of the Melamchi Water Supply Project at Gyalthum.
A police rescue team led by Sub-Inspector Bishnu Shrestha from the Area Police Office, Melamchi is carrying out rescue works and collecting details of the damage caused by the landslide.
4 of a family buried in Parbat, one rescued
Four members of a single family have been buried in a landslide at Pakuwa of Kushma Municipality-18 in Parbat district this morning.
They are Putali Chapagain, 58, her married daughter Jamuna Poudel, 26, and Jamuna's daughter and son, according to the District Police Office, Parbat.
They were buried after the landslide occurred above the house following the incessant rainfall buried the house of Harilal Chapagain.
Locals have been taking initiative to rescue Putali by removing landslide as she is alive but the condition of the remaining three is unknown.
Police teams from Chandika APF Battalion, Kushma, and District Police Office, Parbat, have headed toward the site for the rescue. RSS
