Front page news of Saturday’s edition of the Kathmandu Post (‘Maths teacher at Lalitpur Madhyamik Vidyalaya sexually abused young girls for’, TKP Online, Jan 25 2019) brought back scarring events experienced by my fellow colleague/friend. She was in class four in 2001 and this creep would find excuses to sit next to her, touch her, and caress her thighs. This lasted for a whole two years.
She was more than happy to change school in class six and never to look at his filthy face again. In the article, he has denied any wrongdoing even though he was accused by multiple victims. So I am writing this letter to back the stories of all the others. The incident she narrated filled me with rage but there is little I can do as she is scared to come forward.
All I can do is write this email to you and thank you for bringing this article to the public. Thank you for exposing his face to people and alerting parents of that school. I sincerely hope that this time the school takes action against him. We as men need to own up to our actions and respect women. As future parents, we need to teach our sons to behave.
