Chinese man and Nepali woman held with illegal cash in Kathmandu

Police arrested a Chinese national and a Nepali woman from ward 2 of Nagarjun Municipality in Kathmandu on Tuesday night for possessing illegal cash and gold-like metal.
According to police, the arrested are 38-year-old Chinese national Ziao Gang and 22-year-old Rojina Sunar from ward 2 of Nilkantha Municipality in Dhading, who were staying at a rented flat in the house of Sarita Maharjan.
During a search of their room around 11:30pm, police recovered Rs 6.98 million in cash and ornaments resembling gold, including two necklaces, two pairs of earrings, four bangles, three rings, a nose ring, and a headpiece. Police also seized four iPhones, a MacBook, another mobile phone, and a BYD car.
Both suspects are being held at Swayambhu Police Circle for investigation. Police said four other women living in the same house have also been taken into custody for questioning.
