Three arrested in Kathmandu over job scam

Police have arrested three men in Kathmandu on charges of swindling people with false promises of foreign employment. Those arrested are Jasman Tamang of Nuwakot, Bhupal Shrestha of Kathmandu and Min Bahadur Thapa of Syangja.
According to police, Tamang allegedly took Rs520,000 from a victim under the pretext of sending them to Poland. Similarly, Shrestha and Thapa reportedly collected Rs8.3 million from multiple individuals, assuring them of jobs in Canada, before becoming unreachable.
They were apprehended by a team from the Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office in Teku, acting on complaints filed by the victims. Police said the trio has been handed over to the Department of Foreign Employment in Tahachal for further investigation and legal action.
