President Paudel attends Basanta Shrawan ritual
Leaders and officials join annual ceremony at Hanumandhoka Durbar Square.Post Report
President Ramchandra Paudel participated in the Basanta Shrawan ritual at Hanumandhoka Durbar Square on Monday morning, marking the occasion of Basanta Panchami.
At the auspicious hour of 7:55 am, the President listened to a special melody and received tika and prasad from the priest. As per tradition, the head of state listens to this sacred melody yearly on Basanta Panchami.
A Nepal Army troupe presented a guard of honour to President Paudel.
The event was also attended by Vice President Ramsahay Prasad Yadav, Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, Chief Justice Prakash Man Singh Raut, Speaker Devraj Ghimire, National Assembly Chair Narayan Prasad Dahal, senior government officials, and security chiefs.
The festival, also known as Shree Panchami or Saraswati Puja, is dedicated to Saraswati, the goddess of knowledge.
