Rastriya Swatantra Party wins Kathmandu-16 by-elections
Rojina Shrestha of the party secures victory with 2,902 votes.

Rojina Shrestha of the Rastriya Swatantra Party has been elected ward chair of Kathmandu Metropolitan City-16, securing 2,902 votes.
According to the Election Commission, Laxmiratna Tuladhar of the UML came second with 2,220 votes, while Congress candidate Devendra Pathak finished third with 2,214 votes. Unified Socialist’s Min Bahadur Manandhar received 1,092 votes, and Shyam Krishna Shrestha of the Rastriya Prajatantra Party secured 774 votes.
A total of 10,558 votes were cast, with 180 declared invalid.
The by-election was held following the death of Mukunda Rijal, elected ward chair in 2022 with 4,018 votes from Congress.
