Nepal on Tuesday reported 73 new PCR confirmed coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours taking the nationwide infection tally to 979,908.

Similarly, 17 people tested positive in a total of 1,168 antigen tests, according to the Health Ministry.

As of Tuesday, 5,765,719 PCR and 1,234,415 antigen tests have been carried out across the country.

A total of 1,944 PCR tests were performed in the past 24 hours, according to the Health Ministry.

The country did not report any Covid-19 related death in the last 24 hours, according to the Health Ministry. The countrywide death toll has reached 11,952 since the pandemic began.

According to the ministry, 967,555 infected people have recovered from the disease so far; 20 of them in the last 24 hours. The number of active cases stands at 401.

In the past 24 hours, 52 new infections were reported in Bagmati, seven in Province 1, five in Lumbini, three each in Sudurpaschim and Madhesh, two in Gandaki and one in Karnali.

Nepal on Monday reported 34 new PCR confirmed coronavirus cases. Similarly, 39 new PCR confirmed coronavirus cases were reported on Sunday and 33 new PCR confirmed coronavirus cases were reported on Saturday.
