Nepal reports 387 new Covid-19 cases, six deaths
According to the Health Ministry, the countrywide death toll has now reached 11,460 and the number of active cases stands at 7,519.Post Report
Nepal on Wednesday reported 387 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours taking the nationwide infection tally to 815,759.
Similarly, 53 people tested positive in a total of 1,407 antigen tests, according to the Health Ministry.
As of Wednesday, 4,474,545 PCR and 685,282 antigen tests have been carried out across the country.
A total of 5,407 PCR tests were performed in the past 24 hours, according to the Health Ministry.
In its regular situation report, the ministry did not mention the death toll over the past 24 hours. It, however, reported six Covid-19-related fatalities, which included the number of deaths managed by Nepal Army on different dates.
The countrywide death toll has now reached 11,460. The number of active cases stands at 7,519.
According to the ministry, 796,780 infected people have recovered from the disease so far; 474 of them in the last 24 hours.
Kathmandu Valley recorded 242 new infections in the past 24 hours. Of these, 155 cases were confirmed in Kathmandu, 32 in Lalitpur and 15 in Bhaktapur.
In the past 24 hours, 65 new infections were recorded in Province 1, 17 in Province 2, 213 in Bagmati, 39 in Gandaki, 45 in Lumbini, one in Karnali and seven in Sudurpaschim.
According to the data released by the ministry, two districts are home to more than 500 active cases each; nine other districts host more than 200 active cases each while Mugu and Humla districts have zero active cases.
On Wednesday, 189 individuals infected with the virus were being treated in intensive care units across the country. Another 53—11 in Province 1, 36 in Bagmati, two each in Gandaki and Lumbini, and one in Sudurpaschim—were on ventilator support.
Nepal on Tuesday reported 443 new coronavirus cases and one death. Similarly, 371 new coronavirus cases and five deaths were reported on Monday and 141 new coronavirus cases and nine deaths were reported on Sunday.
