A total of 14,918 PCR tests were performed in the past 24 hours, according to the Health Ministry.
In its regular situation report, the ministry did not mention the death toll over the past 24 hours. It, however, reported one Covid-19-related fatality, which included the number of deaths managed by Nepal Army on different dates.
The countrywide death toll has now reached 11,454. The number of active cases stands at 7,612.
According to the ministry, 796,306 infected people have recovered from the disease so far; 484 of them in the last 24 hours.
Kathmandu Valley recorded 169 new infections in the past 24 hours. Of these, 118 cases were confirmed in Kathmandu, 38 in Lalitpur and 13 in Bhaktapur.
In the past 24 hours, 79 new infections were recorded in Province 1, 33 in Province 2, 211 in Bagmati, 40 in Gandaki, 59 in Lumbini, three in Karnali and 18 in Sudurpaschim.
According to the data released by the ministry, two districts are home to more than 500 active cases each; nine other districts host more than 200 active cases each while Mugu and Humla districts have zero active cases.
On Tuesday, 199 individuals infected with the virus were being treated in intensive care units across the country. Another 55—12 in Province 1, 37 in Bagmati, two each in Gandaki and Lumbini, and one each in Karnali and Sudurpaschim—were on ventilator support.
Nepal on Monday reported 371 new coronavirus cases and five deaths. Similarly, 141 new coronavirus cases and nine deaths were reported on Sunday and 128 new coronavirus cases and one death was reported on Saturday.
