Nepal reports 141 new Covid-19 cases, nine deaths
According to the Health Ministry, the countrywide death toll has now reached 11,448 and the number of active cases stands at 7,713.Post Report
Nepal on Sunday reported 141 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours taking the nationwide infection tally to 814,558.
Similarly, two people tested positive in a total of 353 antigen tests, according to the Health Ministry.
As of Friday, 4,451,614 PCR and 679,637 antigen tests have been carried out across the country.
A total of 1,980 PCR tests were performed in the past 24 hours, according to the Health Ministry.
In its regular situation report, the ministry did not mention the death toll over the past 24 hours. It, however, reported nine Covid-19-related fatalities, which included the number of deaths managed by Nepal Army on different dates.
The countrywide death toll has now reached 11,448. The number of active cases stands at 7,713.
According to the ministry, 795,397 infected people have recovered from the disease so far; 563 of them in the last 24 hours.
Kathmandu Valley recorded 119 new infections in the past 24 hours. Of these, 80 cases were confirmed in Kathmandu, 36 in Lalitpur and three in Bhaktapur.
In the past 24 hours, six new infections were recorded in Province 1, three in Province 2, 125 in Bagmati, four in Gandaki, two in Lumbini and one in Karnali.
According to the data released by the ministry, two districts are home to more than 500 active cases each; nine other districts host more than 200 active cases each while Mugu and Humla districts have zero active cases.
On Sunday, 197 individuals infected with the virus were being treated in intensive care units across the country. Another 49-16 in Province 1, 25 in Bagmati, two in Gandaki, four in Lumbini, and one each in Karnali and in Sudurpaschim—were on ventilator support.
Nepal on Saturday reported 128 new coronavirus cases and one death. Similarly, 174 new coronavirus cases and two deaths were recorded on Friday and 287 new coronavirus cases and two deaths were reported on Thursday.
