Nepal reports 287 new Covid-19 cases, two deaths
According to the Health Ministry, the countrywide death toll has now reached 11,436 and the number of active cases stands at 8,890.Post Report
Nepal on Thursday reported 287 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours taking the nationwide infection tally to 814,115.
Similarly, 69 people tested positive in a total of 3,125 antigen tests, according to the Health Ministry.
As of Thursday, 4,445,193 PCR and 674,949 antigen tests have been carried out across the country.
A total of 3,259 PCR tests were performed in the past 24 hours, according to the Health Ministry.
In its regular situation report, the ministry did not mention the death toll over the past 24 hours. It, however, reported two Covid-19-related fatalities, which included the number of deaths managed by Nepal Army on different dates.
The countrywide death toll has now reached 11,436. The number of active cases stands at 8,890.
According to the ministry, 793,789 infected people have recovered from the disease so far; 518 of them in the last 24 hours.
Kathmandu Valley recorded 137 new infections in the past 24 hours. Of these, 84 cases were confirmed in Kathmandu, 34 in Lalitpur and 19 in Bhaktapur.
In the past 24 hours, 52 new infections were recorded in Province 1, six in Province 2, 159 in Bagmati, 26 in Gandaki, 30 in Lumbini, one in Karnali and 13 in Sudurpaschim.
According to the data released by the ministry, three districts are home to more than 500 active cases each; six other districts host more than 200 active cases each while Mugu and Humla districts have zero active cases.
On Thursday, 215 individuals infected with the virus were being treated in intensive care units across the country. Another 57-18 in Province 1, 32 in Bagmati, two in Gandaki, three in Lumbini, and one each in Karnali and in Sudurpaschim—were on ventilator support.
Nepal on Wednesday reported 395 new coronavirus cases and seven deaths. Similarly, 422 new coronavirus cases and 11 deaths were reported on Tuesday and 441 new coronavirus cases and eight deaths were reported on Monday.
