Nepal reports 422 new Covid-19 cases, 11 deaths
According to the Health Ministry, the countrywide death toll has now reached 11,427 and the number of active cases stands at 9,174.Post Report
Nepal on Tuesday reported 422 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours taking the nationwide infection tally to 813,433.
Similarly, 47 people tested positive in a total of 3,172 antigen tests, according to the Health Ministry.
As of Tuesday, 4,435,357 PCR and 668,488 antigen tests have been carried out across the country.
A total of 7,115 PCR tests were performed in the past 24 hours, according to the Health Ministry.
In its regular situation report, the ministry did not mention the death toll over the past 24 hours. It, however, reported 11 Covid-19-related fatalities, which included the number of deaths managed by Nepal Army on different dates.
The countrywide death toll has now reached 11,427. The number of active cases stands at 9,174.
According to the ministry, 792,832 infected people have recovered from the disease so far; 555 of them in the last 24 hours.
Kathmandu Valley recorded 140 new infections in the past 24 hours. Of these, 99 cases were confirmed in Kathmandu, 36 in Lalitpur and five in Bhaktapur.
In the past 24 hours, 84 new infections were recorded in Province 1, 20 in Province 2, 193 in Bagmati, 55 in Gandaki, 58 in Lumbini and 12 in Sudurpaschim.
According to the data released by the ministry, three districts are home to more than 500 active cases each; nine other districts host more than 200 active cases each while Manang, Mugu and Humla districts have active zero cases.
On Tuesday, 241 individuals infected with the virus were being treated in intensive care units across the country. Another 74-26 in Province 1, 38 in Bagmati, three in Gandaki, five in Lumbini, and one each in Karnali and in Sudurpaschim—were on ventilator support.
Nepal on Monday reported 441 new coronavirus cases and nine deaths. Similarly, 376 new coronavirus cases and eight deaths were reported on Sunday and 297 new coronavirus cases and 11 deaths were reported on Saturday.
