Nepal reports 441 new Covid-19 cases, nine deaths
According to the Health Ministry, the countrywide death toll has now reached 11,416 and the number of active cases stands at 9,318.Post Report
Nepal on Monday reported 441 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours taking the nationwide infection tally to 813,011.
Similarly, 92 people tested positive in a total of 4,196 antigen tests, according to the Health Ministry.
As of Monday, 4,428,242 PCR and 665,316 antigen tests have been carried out across the country.
A total of 7,468 PCR tests were performed in the past 24 hours, according to the Health Ministry.
In its regular situation report, the ministry did not mention the death toll over the past 24 hours. It, however, reported nine Covid-19-related fatalities, which included the number of deaths managed by Nepal Army on different dates.
The countrywide death toll has now reached 11,416. The number of active cases stands at 9,318.
According to the ministry, 792,277 infected people have recovered from the disease so far; 490 of them in the last 24 hours.
Kathmandu Valley recorded 228 new infections in the past 24 hours. Of these, 162 cases were confirmed in Kathmandu, 50 in Lalitpur and 16 in Bhaktapur.
In the past 24 hours, 86 new infections were recorded in Province 1, seven in Province 2, 250 in Bagmati, 22 in Gandaki, 62 in Lumbini, four in Karnali and 10 in Sudurpaschim.
According to the data released by the ministry, three districts are home to more than 500 active cases each; 10 other districts host more than 200 active cases each while Manang and Mugu districts have active zero cases.
On Monday, 241 individuals infected with the virus were being treated in intensive care units across the country. Another 74-26 in Province 1, 38 in Bagmati, two in Gandaki, five in Lumbini, one in Karnali and two in Sudurpaschim—were on ventilator support.
Nepal on Sunday reported 376 new coronavirus cases and eight deaths. Similarly, 297 new coronavirus cases and 11 deaths were reported on Saturday and 490 new coronavirus cases and six deaths were reported on Friday.
