Nepal reports 376 new Covid-19 cases, eight deaths
According to the Health Ministry, the countrywide death toll has now reached 11,407 and the number of active cases stands at 9,376.Post Report
Nepal on Sunday reported 376 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours taking the nationwide infection tally to 812,570.
Similarly, 32 people tested positive in a total of 2,168 antigen tests, according to the Health Ministry.
As of Sunday, 4,420,774 PCR and 661,120 antigen tests have been carried out across the country.
A total of 5,731 PCR tests were performed in the past 24 hours, according to the Health Ministry.
In its regular situation report, the ministry did not mention the death toll over the past 24 hours. It, however, reported eight Covid-19-related fatalities, which included the number of deaths managed by Nepal Army on different dates.
The countrywide death toll has now reached 11,407. The number of active cases stands at 9,376.
According to the ministry, 791,787 infected people have recovered from the disease so far; 518 of them in the last 24 hours.
Kathmandu Valley recorded 119 new infections in the past 24 hours. Of these, 99 cases were confirmed in Kathmandu, 13 in Lalitpur and seven in Bhaktapur.
In the past 24 hours, 69 new infections were recorded in Province 1, seven in Province 2, 165 in Bagmati, 59 in Gandaki, 69 in Lumbini, three in Karnali and four in Sudurpaschim.
According to the data released by the ministry, three districts are home to more than 500 active cases each; 10 other districts host more than 200 active cases each and one district—Mugu—has active zero cases.
On Sunday, 225 individuals infected with the virus were being treated in intensive care units across the country. Another 70-21 in Province 1, 40 in Bagmati, two in Gandaki, five in Lumbini and one each in Karnali and Sudurpaschim—were on ventilator support.
Nepal on Saturday reported 297 new coronavirus cases and 11 deaths. Similarly, 490 new coronavirus cases and six deaths were reported on Friday and 527 new coronavirus cases and two deaths were recorded on Thursday.
