With 7,220 new cases, Nepal's Covid-19 tally reaches 520,461

Nepal on Monday reported 7,220 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours taking the nationwide infection tally to 520,461.
Similarly, 205 people tested positive in a total of 607 antigen tests, according to the Health Ministry.
In its regular situation report, the ministry did not mention the death toll over the past 24 hours. It, however, reported 185 Covid-19-related fatalities, which included the number of deaths managed by Nepal Army on different dates.
The countrywide death toll has now reached 6,531. The number of active cases stands at 115,447.
According to the ministry, 398,483 infected people have recovered from the disease so far; 7,135 of them in the last 24 hours.
Kathmandu Valley recorded 2,785 new infections in the past 24 hours. Of these, 1,806 cases were confirmed in Kathmandu, 681 in Lalitpur and 298 in Bhaktapur.
In the past 24 hours, 822 new infections were recorded in Province 1, 526 in Province 2, 3,829 in Bagmati, 905 in Gandaki, 702 in Lumbini, 152 in Karnali and 284 in Sudurpaschim.
According to the data released by the ministry, 46 districts are home to more than 500 active cases each and other 17 districts host more than 200 active cases each.
As of Monday, 2,936,314 PCR tests have been carried out across the country.
A total of 19,846 PCR tests were performed in the past 24 hours, according to the Health Ministry.
On Monday, 1,697 individuals infected with the virus were being treated in intensive care units across the country. Another 467—41 in Province 1, 47 in Province 2, 307 in Bagmati, 30 in Gandaki, 23 in Lumbini, eight in Karnali and 11 in Sudurpaschim—were on ventilator support.
Nepal on Sunday reported 7,598 new cases and 193 Covid-19 related fatalities. Similarly, 8,591 new cases and 129 Covid-19-related deaths were recorded on Saturday and 8,407 new cases and 174 Covid-19 related fatalities were reported on Friday.
