With 7,598 new cases, Nepal's Covid-19 tally reaches 513,241
The Health Ministry reports 193 new deaths including figures from the past few days based on statistics from the Nepal Army.Post Report
Nepal on Sunday reported 7,598 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours taking the nationwide infection tally to 513,241.
Similarly, 316 people tested positive in a total of 961 antigen tests, according to the Health Ministry.
In its regular situation report, the ministry did not mention the death toll over the past 24 hours. It, however, reported 193 Covid-19-related fatalities, which included the number of deaths managed by Nepal Army on different dates.
The countrywide death toll has now reached 6,346. The number of active cases stands at 115,547.
According to the ministry, 391,348 infected people have recovered from the disease so far; 7,664 of them in the last 24 hours.
Kathmandu Valley recorded 2,821 new infections in the past 24 hours. Of these, 1,761 cases were confirmed in Kathmandu, 694 in Lalitpur and 366 in Bhaktapur.
In the past 24 hours, 770 new infections were recorded in Province 1, 529 in Province 2, 3,461 in Bagmati, 913 in Gandaki, 1,300 in Lumbini, 356 in Karnali and 269 in Sudurpaschim.
According to the data released by the ministry, 45 districts are home to more than 500 active cases each and other 17 districts host more than 200 active cases each.
As of Sunday, 2,916,468 PCR tests have been carried out across the country.
A total of 18,965 PCR tests were performed in the past 24 hours, according to the Health Ministry.
On Sunday, 1,721 individuals infected with the virus were being treated in intensive care units across the country. Another 484—58 in Province 1, 51 in Province 2, 308 in Bagmati, 27 in Gandaki, 21 in Lumbini, eight in Karnali and 11 in Sudurpaschim—were on ventilator support.
Nepal on Saturday reported 8,591 new cases and 129 Covid-19-related deaths. Similarly, 8,407 new Covid-19 cases and 174 fatalities were reported on Friday and 8,227 new Covid-19 cases and 190 fatalities were recorded on Thursday.
