Nepal’s Covid-19 toll reaches 1,454 with 19 more deaths; national tally reaches 230,723 with 1,380 new infections

Nepal on Saturday reported 19 more Covid-19-related fatalities, pushing the death toll to 1,454. The country also recorded 1,380 new cases.
The overall infection tally has reached 230,723 with 18,083 active cases.
According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 515 infected people have recovered from the disease in the past 24 hours.
Kathmandu Valley recorded 645 new infections in the past 24 hours. Of them, 485 cases were confirmed in Kathmandu, 124 in Lalitpur and 36 in Bhaktapur.
As of Saturday, the number of confirmed cases in the Valley has reached 107,769. While Kathmandu has reported 348 Covid-19-related fatalities so far, Lalitpur and Bhaktapur have recorded 109 and 89 deaths respectively.
According to the ministry, 721 individuals from Bagmati Province, 196 from Lumbini Province, 194 from Province 2, 187 from Province 1, 96 from Gandaki Province, 37 from Sudurpaschim Province, and 23 from Karnali Province have died of Covid-19 so far.
As of Saturday, 1,719,828 PCR tests have been carried out across the country.
A total of 9,368 PCR tests were performed in the past 24 hours, according to the data released by the ministry.
In the past 24 hours, 195 new infections were reported in Province 1, 37 in Province 2, and 747 in Bagmati Province.
Similarly, Gandaki, Lumbini, Sudurpaschim and Karnali provinces reported 221, 171, one and eight cases respectively.
Six districts—Jhapa, Kathmandu, Bhaktapur, Lalitpur, Kaski and Rupandehi—have more than 500 active cases. Manang and Dolpa districts do not have any active case, according to the ministry.
While 325 individuals infected with the virus are being treated in intensive care units across the country, 50 others—24 in Bagmati Province, 10 each in Gandaki and Province 1, four in Lumbini Province, and one each in Province 2 and Sudurpaschim Province—are on ventilator support.
Nepal on Friday reported 23 more Covid-19-related fatalities and 1,703 new cases. The country recorded 23 Covid-19-related deaths and 1,614 new infections on Thursday compared to 28 deaths and 1,948 new infections on Wednesday and 24 deaths and 1,790 new infections on Tuesday.
