Eight people stranded in Phewa Lake due to a sudden storm were rescued on Monday afternoon.

According to Superintendent of Police Surya Timilsina, chief of the Armed Police Force No. 24 Battalion in Kalika, the group was trapped after strong winds disrupted their stand-up paddle boards.

Six individuals were left stranded in the middle of the lake while still on their boards, and two others—Resham Thapa from Chitwan and Bijay Sunar from Kaski—fell into the water.

Rescue teams from the Armed Police Force and the Nepal Army were deployed for the operation.

All eight were safely brought to shore without serious injuries.
