At least nine people were injured when a passenger jeep met with an accident at Rainas Municipality-8 of Lamjung on Saturday morning.

According to police, the jeep heading to Bhotewodar of Sundarbazar Municipality from Rainas-10 overturned at around 10am.

Among the injured, the jeep driver, Puran Gurung, 30, from Sundarbazar-8 was taken to Chitwan for further treatment. Gurung has sustained serious injuries to his right hand.

All the other injured are undergoing treatment at Bhotewodar Hospital in Sundarbazar-9 in normal health condition, police said.

Police said the jeep might have crashed due to brake failure.

Locals said the jeep was overloaded with 20-25 passengers.
