Post Report
The second round of the Martyr’s Memorial B Division League concluded on Thursday with the 14 participating teams playing their second game of the league across four days.
Saraswoti Youth Club (SYC) registered their second win of the league defeating Nayabasti Youth Club (NYC) at the ANFA Complex in Satdobato to end the second round. Saraswoti had defeated Bansbari Club 2-1 in their first game.
On Thursday, SYC defeated NYC 1-0. It was again Dhirendra Bahadur Shaha who scored for SYC; Shaha had scored a goal in the 2-1 win over Bansbari as well.
Meanwhile, it was NYC’s first loss in the league, having played a goalless draw against Boys’ Union Club (BYC) on March 12. Likewise, BYC played their second goalless draw against Tushal Youth Club (TYC) on Wednesday. It was also a second draw for TYC after a 1-1 ending against Madhyapur Youth Association (MYA) on March 11.
The only other teams except SYC to win two regular games include Shree Bhagawati Club (SBC) and Planning Boyz United (PBU).
SBC defeated Brigade Boys Club (BBC) 2-0 to register their second win on March 18 while PBU defeated Chyasal Youth Club (CYC) 4-0 on March 17.
PBU are at the top of the points table on goal difference and are followed by SBC and SYC.
Likewise, three teams have failed to earn a single point in two games. Jhapa Football Club, Ranipokhari Corner Team (RCT) and Shree Kumari Club have lost in their first two fixtures. RCT were handed their second loss by Bansbari Club on Wednesday.
Similarly, Chyasal and Nayabasti have at least one point from a draw.
Goal scorers
A total of 33 goals have been scored across 14 games in the league. There were 23 players who scored 31 of those goals; two of the remaining were own goals.
RCT’s Amar Shrestha and Jhapa’s Pema Tamang have scored an own goal each against SBC and MYA, respectively. RCT and Jhapa lost in both instances.
