Imran Sheikh top-scored with 33 as Karnali posted a modest total at TU International Cricket Stadium.Post Report
Karnali Yaks have set a 130-run target for Janakpur Bolts after posting 129 for nine in their final league-stage match of the Nepal Premier League at the TU International Cricket Stadium on Sunday.
Having opted to bat first, Karnali struggled to build substantial partnerships, with opener Imran Sheikh providing the only notable resistance. Sheikh struck 33 off 32 balls, hitting one four and one six, before falling as wickets continued to tumble around him.
Gulshan Jha contributed 19 runs, while Priyank Panchal and William Bassisto added 16 and 15 respectively. Najibullah Zadran was bowled for 13, and captain Sompal Kami remained unbeaten on 18, helping Karnali edge closer to the 130 mark despite regular breakthroughs from the Janakpur bowlers.
For Janakpur, Lalit Rajbanshi and Aaditya Mahata claimed two wickets each, while Sangeeth Cooray, Anil Sah and Maaz Sadaqat chipped in with a wicket apiece.
Janakpur now require 130 runs to finish their league campaign on a winning note.
Both Karnali and Janakpur failed to qualify for the playoffs.
